The Cottage

The Cottage

Built in 1882 as a summer residence, the Cottage was originally a two story structure. Next to it stood a companion building housing bedrooms and a ball room. Family friends would visit in the summer and frequently stay for a week or more. Footpaths led from the home to various locations on the farm and alongside the creek, boasting pedestrian bridges, gazebos, flower beds and, of course, numerous benches.

The opulent Victorian foyer, sitting room and dining room, unique butler’s pantry, kitchen and rooms on the first level are available for hosting a variety of functions and events. The Summer House Pavilion located on the hill behind the Cottage is a popular place for weddings and photo opportunities. Guests can relax and enjoy the scenery from the wrap around screened-in porch, and wander the wondrous grounds that wind around the Cottage. Reservations must be made in advance.
